What seems to be lacking, however, is micro analysis of minority education, especially in isolated districts. I had worked in China as a Research Attache of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consulate General in Guangzhou for the last two years (Apr.2000-Mar.2002). At the time I conducted fieldwork on several occasions to understand the truth of minority education, interviewed officials, teachers and farmers and their children. Pursuing these questions in interview, I almost reached the core of problem of diffusing compulsory education in isolated districts in China.},
