Developmental acances of the hearing aid have historicaly supported this. Today, cochlear implants are a new medical technology that takes deaf children into a vocal world. Within the medical model hearing impairment contimues to be evaluatend as a pathological condition. However, there are alternative choices available, such as social models from sociology, anthropology, linguistics.
