I focus on the feminist poststructuralist approach within the sociological research on chilfhood. The rise of research on sex differences in the 1970's, the focus of discussion changed from the presence of sex differences th the mechanism of tis acquisition. Many analysis of sex roles were conducted to examine the process of acquistion of gender identity. By the second wave of feminism, we became aware of a system of pooression in line with the notion of sex/gender as socially constructed. Feminism led us to do research on gender, which led to exploration of socialy and culturally constructed gender. I review the literatuire on the feminist poststructuralist approch in the research on children. Feminist poststructuralist approach allows the reconsideration of subjectivity and adult-child relation as well as gender dichotomy.
