Sport in often referred to as value of competition or criticized as it often goes into struggle. Though competition and cooperation are seemingly contradictory, they are not always so and they sometimes coexist. Rules of sports differentiate competition from conflict and prevent competition from being overrun by violence. The fair-play spirit make competition more cooperative. And a common characteristic of both competition and cooperation in sport is that they are affected by social, and cultural factors rather than by people's inborn nature or aptitude.
